What Is Words For Words? / by Dave Connis

On the heels of The Fault In Our Stars Project, I realized something: I love making music about books. This doesn't come as a shock to me considering that I love both books and music. It's a future dream to combine the two by publishing a book as well as an album specific to that book. There's something about an auditory representation of words you read on a page that makes you feel and interact with the story in a different way. Therefore, I'm going to start the Words for Words Mblog (music blog, pronounced Mmmm blog). Instead of writing reviews and telling people my opinions on books (which I'm sure no one cares about), I'm going to write a song for the books that move me the most. I'm not sure what kind of timeline I can adhere too, but my aim is to have a song a month for 2014.

Of course, my intentions are half-pure. I love making music, but I also desire to build a platform for myself. I also want authors to find a whole new side of fan art in their work (via Dave Connis). In a small way, I hope to give back to them for giving me a good story, however, I'd also like a RT...or a "good job" or "hey, my book has a movie coming out soon, why don't you write the soundtrack?"

Selfless, right?

Now that I've explained the Mmmm blog to you, hop on over to Eleanor & Park, January's Word for Word song.
